Question 7
Which atheist person, living or dead, do you most admire?
Richard Dawkins, for his memes and selfish genes, and for his
relentless criticism of Creationism and religious nonsense in general.
(Darwin #1985)
John Lennon (raven1, chib, John Baker)
Isaac Asimov for his work making complex scientific concepts available to a
wide audience. (Malum Regnat #2005)
Douglas Adams. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! (Jeff S.)
Difficult. Perhaps Kubrick for his wonderful films, showing that being an
atheist does not kill your creativity. (Mark Whickman)
Wow, that's a tough choice. History-wise, there are so many to choose
from, but I think I'll go with Robert Ingersoll. (Nemo #1331)
Frank Zappa, hands down. I admire his art - he is (arguably) the finest
composer of the 20th century. I admire his ability to make his own way,
doing only the things he really wanted to do, going against the
mainstream all the way ans *still* be successful. And I agree with many
of his philosophical viewpoints - as I found out when I read his
autobiography. (Heathen Bastard)
William Gaines (Founder of Mad Magazine)
And Buddha. (Jeffrey L. Graham #1946)
