Are cats better pets for atheists than dogs? (Prepare to watch the fur fly.) :-)
Dogs often worship their masters, which could lead one to a dog
complex.
Cats, however, are secure in the fact that they are the masters.
One owns dogs. One is owned by cats (Eric Gunnerson #31)
Cats possess the proper atheist attitude while dogs are too slobberingly sincere; too much like the slobberingly sincere door-to-door fundies.
We have two cats in the yard. Life used to be so....STOP THAT!

Are cats better pets for atheists? Perhaps not: a growling, barking
dog might do more to keep the Mormon missionaries away. (pan #1432)
However, although I live with three cats, I won't say they're better.
Just different. (The Central Scrutinizer)
Actually I have had friendly relationships with cats. (You can't really
own a cat can you)?
The problem in my case would be in letting one out of the house to roam.
I wouldn't feel right keeping it penned up and I wouldn't feel right letting it out. On the other hand I can keep "that damn dog" fenced in
so that she doesn't get converted to highway pizza. (atheist@home.com#1554)
